    Gopher Dunes Inc. is a premier motocross and off-road recreational park located in Courtland, Ontario. We combine a high-traffic motocross track with a welcoming campground, training, summer camps and retail outlets, dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for families and motorsports enthusiasts alike.

    Position Overview

    The Camp Counsellor at Gopher Dunes plays a key role in delivering an exceptional and memorable camp experience for all participants. This position is responsible for overseeing daily camper care, including meal coordination and leading engaging non-dirt bike activities.

    As a front-line ambassador of Gopher Dunes, the Camp Counsellor helps create a safe, inclusive, and energetic environment where campers can build friendships, develop confidence, and enjoy a well-rounded outdoor experience beyond riding.

    Key Responsibilities

    Camper Supervision & Experience

    • Provide consistent supervision and support for campers throughout the day

    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented camp environment

    • Act as a mentor and role model, promoting respect, responsibility, and fun

    • Coordinate timing with dirt bike instructors

    • Ensure camper safety and well-being at all times

    Meal Coordination & Oversight

    • Organize and supervise all meal times, ensuring campers are accounted for

    • Assist with meal setup, distribution, and cleanup

    • Monitor dietary needs, allergies, and ensure proper accommodations are followed

    • Promote respectful behaviour and positive social interaction during meals

    Activity Planning & Execution (Non-Riding)

    • Prep and lead a variety of structured and unstructured activities, such as:

    • Outdoor games and sports: soccer, volleyball, and badminton

    • Swimming and beach activities

    • Campfire programs and evening events

    • Team-building exercises: Outdoor themed activities, experiments, and crafts

    • Adapt activities to suit different age groups and skill levels

    • Maintain high energy and engagement throughout all programming

    Safety & Organization

    • Enforce camp rules and safety protocols across all activities

    • Maintain clean, organized activity areas and common spaces

    • Assist in emergency situations following established procedures

    • Communicate effectively with staff and leadership regarding camper needs or concerns

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Experience working with children or youth (camp, coaching, education, or similar)

    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

    • Energetic, enthusiastic, and team-oriented mindset

    • Ability to manage groups in a fast-paced outdoor environment

    • First Aid & CPR certification (preferred)

    • Passion for outdoor recreation and creating memorable experiences
